Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will receive you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After checking in, you will have some time to relax before heading out to explore the lively streets of Thamel, a popular hub for trekkers filled with cafés, restaurants, and outdoor gear stores.
If you have any last-minute trekking essentials to purchase or rent, Thamel offers plenty of reliable shops to choose from. This is also a great opportunity to meet your fellow trekkers, get to know the group, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere before the adventure begins.
In the evening, we will gather at the hotel for a detailed trek briefing where you'll meet our team and your fellow trekkers. We will walk you through the itinerary, conduct a gear check, discuss altitude safety, and answer any last-minute questions to ensure everyone is well prepared for the journey ahead before tomorrow's flight to Lukla.
Today, we will take an early morning flight to Lukla, departing either from Kathmandu or Ramechhap, depending on the flight schedule. Widely regarded as one of the most scenic mountain flights in the world, the journey offers breathtaking views of lush valleys, terraced hillsides, and the snow-capped Himalayan range. As we approach Lukla, we will experience an exciting landing at the famous Tenzing-Hillary Airport, known for its short uphill runway nestled amidst the mountains.
After arriving in Lukla, we will meet our local support team and complete the final trek preparations. You can also use this time to do any last-minute shopping or withdraw cash from one of the ATMs, as these facilities are limited further along the trail. We will then freshen up, enjoy a light snack, and begin our trek towards Phakding.
The trail is mostly downhill, passing through traditional Sherpa villages, colourful prayer flags, mani stones, and our first suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. By afternoon, we will reach Phakding and check into our tea house, where we will unwind and prepare for the exciting days ahead.
Today, we will continue our journey towards Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River through beautiful pine forests and traditional Sherpa villages, crossing several suspension bridges along the way.
We will enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where our permits will be checked before continuing to Jorsalle, the last village before Namche Bazaar. We will stop here for lunch, as there are no tea houses or food stops until we reach Namche Bazaar.
After lunch, we will cross the Dudh Koshi River and walk along the river for a while before beginning the day's most challenging climb. Along the way, we will pass the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge, one of the most photographed landmarks on the Everest Base Camp trail. As we continue climbing, we will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding valleys and, on a clear day, our first glimpse of Mount Everest.
We will reach Namche Bazaar by late afternoon and check into our tea house. Once you had some rest, take some time to explore the streets of Namche, visit the local cafés and bakeries, or browse the nearby shops. With its beautiful mountain views and lively atmosphere, Namche Bazaar is one of the highlights of the Everest Base Camp trek and a great place to spend the evening before tomorrow's acclimatization hike.
Today is our first acclimatization day. If the weather is clear, we will get to see beautiful views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks from Namche Bazaar. Instead of taking a full day off, we will hike to a higher elevation before returning to Namche Bazaar. This helps our bodies acclimatize to the altitude while following the golden rule of trekking, which is climb high and sleep low.
Our hike takes us to the famous Everest View Hotel, one of the highest hotels in the world, offering breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and several other Himalayan peaks. We will also visit the nearby village of Khumjung and its famous monastery, where we can experience the local Sherpa culture.
We will return to Namche Bazaar by afternoon. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the streets of Namche, visiting the local cafés and bakeries, browsing the nearby shops, and enjoying the warm hospitality of the Sherpa community before we continue our journey tomorrow.
Today, we will leave Namche Bazaar and continue deeper into the Everest region. The trail begins with a gradual walk along the mountainside, offering stunning views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. This is one of the most scenic sections of the entire trek, so don't forget to keep your camera ready.
We will also pass through the beautiful village of Kyangjuma, where you can buy locally made handicrafts and enjoy the peaceful mountain views. We will stop for lunch at Phunki Tenga before beginning the final uphill climb to Tengboche through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests.
By afternoon, we will arrive at Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest and most important monastery in the Khumbu region. If time permits, we can visit the monastery and experience its peaceful atmosphere while learning more about the local Sherpa culture and Buddhist traditions.
We will check into our tea house and relax for the evening, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views as we prepare for the next stage of our journey.
We will begin the day by leaving Tengboche and descending through beautiful rhododendron forests to Debuche. After crossing the Imja Khola on a suspension bridge, we will continue towards Pangboche, one of the oldest Sherpa villages in the Khumbu region. Throughout the day, we will enjoy stunning views of Ama Dablam, Everest, and Lhotse.
We will stop for lunch along the way before continuing through Somare towards Dingboche. As we gain altitude, the landscape slowly changes, with green forests giving way to open valleys and rugged mountain terrain. The fresh mountain air and breathtaking views make this another memorable day on the trek.
By afternoon, we will arrive in Dingboche and check into our tea house. Surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks, this peaceful village offers incredible views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Island Peak. The rest of the day is yours to relax, explore the village, and prepare for tomorrow's acclimatization hike.
Today is our second acclimatization day. Instead of taking a full day off, we will hike to a higher point and return to Dingboche, following the golden rule of high-altitude trekking: climb high, sleep low.
Our hike takes us to Nagarjun Hill (5,100 m), one of the best viewpoints in the region. From the top, we will enjoy breathtaking views of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Island Peak, and many other Himalayan peaks. We will spend some time here to rest, take photos, and enjoy the incredible mountain scenery before making our way back.
After returning to Dingboche, the rest of the day is free to relax at the tea house or explore the village. A good night's rest today will help prepare us for the higher altitude and the exciting days ahead.
Today, we will leave Dingboche and continue our journey towards Lobuche. The trail begins with a gradual climb through the wide Imja Valley, offering breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Taboche, and other surrounding Himalayan peaks. As we gain altitude, the landscape becomes more rugged, with fewer trees and vast open mountain scenery.
We will stop for lunch at Thukla before beginning the steep climb to the Thukla Pass Memorial. Once we reach the Thukla Pass Memorial, we will come across memorials dedicated to climbers and Sherpas who lost their lives on expeditions in the Everest region. We will then continue on the gradual trail towards Lobuche.
By afternoon, we will arrive at our tea house in Lobuche and settle in for the evening. Surrounded by snow-covered peaks, we will rest and prepare for one of the most exciting days of our trek as we head towards Everest Base Camp tomorrow.
Today is the day we have all been waiting for. We will start the day with an early breakfast before beginning our trek towards Gorakshep, the last village before reaching Everest Base Camp. The route follows a rocky glacial path with breathtaking views of Pumori, Nuptse, and other Himalayan peaks. After reaching Gorakshep, we will check into our tea house, leave our heavy bags behind, and enjoy lunch before continuing towards Everest Base Camp.
The trail to Everest Base Camp passes alongside the Khumbu Glacier and takes you across rocky glacial moraine before reaching Base Camp. After a steady walk, we will finally reach Everest Base Camp, where we will have time to enjoy the incredible surroundings, capture photos, and celebrate this unforgettable achievement. You can see the beginning of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp. If you are trekking during the spring climbing season (April and May), you may also get the chance to see some expedition camps, where climbers and their Sherpa teams prepare for their summit attempt.
After spending some time at Everest Base Camp, we will return to Gorakshep for the night. We will rest early and prepare for another exciting morning as we hike to Kala Patthar for sunrise.
We will begin the day before sunrise with a short but rewarding hike to Kala Patthar, the highest point of our trek. The climb is steep, but every step brings us closer to one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Everest region. Reaching the summit of Kala Patthar, you will witness breathtaking close-up views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks, making it one of the highlights of the Everest Base Camp trek.
After spending some time at the summit, we will descend to Gorakshep for breakfast before continuing our journey towards Pheriche. The trail retraces our route through Lobuche, offering another chance to admire the dramatic mountain scenery, glaciers, and wide valleys that make this region so unforgettable.
By the afternoon, we will arrive in Pheriche and check into our tea house. Here, you can relax, enjoy a warm meal, and prepare for the journey ahead.
Today, we continue our descent towards Namche Bazaar through the beautiful Khumbu Valley. The trail passes through Pangboche, Tengboche, and several charming Sherpa villages, offering familiar views of forests, suspension bridges, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks.
Along the way, we will cross the Dudh Koshi River and walk through peaceful rhododendron and pine forests before making the final climb to Namche Bazaar.
By the afternoon, we will arrive in Namche Bazaar and check into our tea house. Spend the evening relaxing, enjoying a warm meal, or exploring the lively streets of Namche Bazaar.
Today marks the final day of our trek as we continue our journey to Lukla. The trail passes through beautiful forests, crosses suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, and winds through charming Sherpa villages.
Before heading towards Lukla, we will take a short lunch break in Phakding. The route includes a few short uphill sections and a longer descent, making for a pleasant day on the trail.
By the afternoon, we will arrive in Lukla and check into our tea house. Spend the evening relaxing, sharing stories with fellow trekkers, and celebrating the successful completion of your Everest Base Camp trek.
Today, we will head to Lukla Airport after an early breakfast for our flight. Depending on the season and flight operations, you will either fly directly to Kathmandu or to Ramechhap, followed by a scenic drive to Kathmandu.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our team will transfer you back to your hotel. Take some time to relax and unwind.
In the evening, join us for a farewell dinner as we celebrate the successful completion of your Everest Base Camp trek. You will also receive your trek completion certificate in recognition of this special achievement.
